During the peak of California’s drought, we wanted to conserve water. Instead of letting our bath water go down the drain, we used it to water the lawn. We drained the bathtub through a surge tank that then pumped the water through a converted pool sand filter and out under the lawn. The subsurface drip lines alone save 40% of water from evaporation.
